  • Kreuzberg fleamarket

      per   Alex

The Kreuzberg fleamarket is a great place to go in Berlin for those who want to pick up some unusal souvenirs or just have a poke around German history. On sale here are military paraphernalia as well as tables piled high with unusual fur stoles, chunky costume jewellery, antiques, art and old German books. The market is only open on the weekends, but it’s a good place to spend a few hours. If it’s rainy or cold (or not!) then buy a plastic cup of warm and spicey Glüwein. Ask for extra shots of Amaretto or Rum to really keep out the cold! Then go for a lie down

  • Sightseeing Berlin

      per   Smithster

Berlin is a city wrapped in political history and some of the best sightseeing in this German capital are associated with its divided past. The most impressive sights here are of course the The Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag which also originate from different periods in time. However the Berlin Wall is a great object of fascination, especially for first timer visitors like me. Check out the museum at Checkpoint Charlie as well as the Documentation Centre which controlled the movement of people from East to West. Also you can’t miss the Jewish Memorial and Museum but for real value, pick up a ticket for Museumsinsel (Museum Island) which gives access to a wealth of German history
