Christmas in Krakow
per AlexOne of the highlights of visiting Krakow before Christmas is visiting the famous markets. Pick up all your Christmas presents here including wooden toys, jewellery and woollen wear, that guaranteed will be totally different from anything your friends and family will find at home. What’s more, the lovely snowy scenes here warm you up nicely for the oncoming festive season. Just remember to wrap up warm as all that snow means it’s pretty cold, especially at night

Jewish Krakow
per AlexKrakow’s Jewish History cannot be forgotten or ignored for those on a city break to the city. The Jewish Quarter (Kazimierz) holds some beautiful buildings and synagogues and if you venture across the River Vistula you can visit the factory that belonged to Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist who saved thousands of Jews from the gas chambers. His efforts were noted in the movie Schindler’s List. Of course from the centre of Krakow, it’s possible to venture out to Auswitz and the location of the former concentration camp. The history here is harrowing but definitely worth making the trip
