Enjoy the Caic, Belfast
per SmithsterYou won’t be stuck trying to find places to drink the black stuff in Belfast. I tried the Crown Liquor Saloon, which is both Victorian and wonderfully baroque. And if you’re looking to get really lively, then check out the craic at the John Hewitt, which hosts live music most nights. Live music is supposed to start at 10pm, but musicians tend to roll in then, sink a pint or two, meaning events tend to kick off a bit later. But what’s the hurry. It’s what I call Belfast cool

Giant’s Causeway
per SmithsterOne of the most stunning places to visit in Belfast is the Giant’s Causeway. It’s about an hour's drive out of the city, along the coast. It really is a wonder of modern nature, made up of 40,000 perfectly hexagonal basalt columns of cooled lava. The walk along the cliffs takes around 45 minutes which gives way to views over the black basalt bay. It’s a world away from the city and offers a real breath of Belfast fresh air (if you’re not afraid of heights)
